Your Israel Insider

OK, you’ve probably heard a lot about the place, but are you ready for the Israel insider perspective? What am I talking about? I’m not talking about what you see or hear in the news, not even what you hear in Sunday school.

I’m talking about the inside look at Israel, the real Israel. This look will partly explain why I live here and why I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else (sorry Mom - not even in glamorous NY), and of course why you would want to come to Israel, even for a short visit.

I’m talking about a place where everyone feels at home, where you walk the streets and somehow feel like you belong and you don’t know why, because after all, you’re not even Israeli, but that doesn’t seem to matter or stop anyone from making you feel like you are.

I’m talking about a place where every conversation that you have with people, whether you are buying delicious fruits and vegetables in the Machane Yeduah shouk (market) in Jerusalem or going clothing shopping in the trendiest stores on Dizengoff Street in Tel Aviv, will end in a blessing that you should be healthy, and/or married, or have kids, or whatever you need.

Real Facts About Israel

The perspective that I’m going to give you describes the country where I actually live. Not one that I’ve only heard about. It’s a land filled with physical beauty, mystical beauty, and spiritual beauty. A land filled with Holy Sites for Jews, Christians, and Moslems. A land where the patriarchs and matriarchs walked and lived. A land that is smack in the middle of the world, boarded by desert lands and yet is a blooming oasis of agriculture, culture, and technology.

I’m talking about a small country that is the size of New Jersey and yet contains everything from skiing slopes to year-round sunny beaches and everything in between. I’m talking about Israel.
